From after version 1.00.18.151 the email blocking feature has been improved and allows control over what can happen with the emails stored in the system.
On older installations, the menu option might be called Blocked email Addresses rather than email Address Control
How does it work
It can be found within Maintenance > Setup > Email Address control.
Once opened the system will display a grid where users can define which domains or email addresses are being controlled and the type of control applied.
If the Domain Only column has been completed then the action will affect ALL email addresses from that domain unless there is a specific exception for a particular email.
e.g.
You could Block the domain @trubble-demo.com, but Allow the email address [email protected]
You can configure the system to perform any of the following actions.
Block |
Any attempt to email will be blocked and a warning displayed saying emailing has been prevented. |
Warn On Sending |
Attempting to email will display a warning advising users to check before sending. |
Allow |
This can be used to allow specific exceptions to any BLOCKS which have been set up. |
E-Shots Prohibited |
This will allow the email address to be used when sending an individual mail but will prevent the address being passed into the Macro Manager for mass email shots. |
STOP on Adcourier Import |
This can be used to prevent the automatic import of a specific email address when using Adcourier (Broadbean). e.g. You may have a particularly troublesome applicant who applies for many of your Broadbean vacancies and you can prevent them being imported into your database in this way. |
Prevent Synchronisation |
This option will stop an individual email address (or domain) from being imported into the system as journals. It will prevent sync by either Drag&Drop or when using the Mailbox Import Tool to pull-in all emails from a particular Outlook folder. |
